Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a fantastic week!

 I came home today to an amazing package from the Sunbutter Gods!

I’ve been dying to try this stuff for so long

It’s wonderful! SO hard for me to not devour this by the spoonful–I can’t wait to try it with some actual food and not just by finger! hehe

Pretty huh? lol I think it’s so funny that the more black a plantain gets, the more sweet and  ripe it actually is–so you basically buy a yellow one and wait for it to look rotten! So I think this one actually has a fewww more days to look even more disgusting, YUM! 🙂

I had a Green Smoothie that totally hit the spot today before the gym–here’s a little pre-blend, pre-banana shot and the yummy result

I love going to the gym on Friday…it’s completely dead, so I love trying new things and I pretty much just goof off the whole time. I did get in 10 min. on the EVIL Stair Master and another 10 on a 7.5 Treadmill Incline. After that I tried some new machines and then headed down to the weight room with all the muscle men and tried to do some curls with 15 lbs…..

Ummmm not sure that was a great idea, I see soreness in my future, but you have to start somewhere right? Right! We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

For Dessert I made a little yummy mix

Happy Humpday! 🙂 YAY! Sooo close to the weekend!

I’ve been in a bit of a food slump lately. I wake up every morning at 4:30, eat a quick breakfast, get ready and I’m at work for 9 hours–not to mention the 30-45 minute commute I make. By the time I get home I don’t have much time to prepare food so I can digest in time to go to the gym, so I find myself making a lot of the same things, hence the constant Veggie repeat. It’s quick…it’s easy…and once again it was my dinner

Gotta love em! Since I’ve officially made summer squash and zucchini a staple in my diet, I looked up a few assuring facts about them-

  • Great source of Vitamin C & Potassium
  • Full of anti-oxidants
  • Promote Good Heart Health

The list goes on and on! I was definitely surprised and happy to read that research shows zucchini’s improve metabolism and help in preventing lung cancer. Ummm WOW! I have no idea if this is true or not but being an ex-smoker and all, I’ve decided that the zucchini is here to STAY!

I made a lovely Green Smoothie today

  • Spinach
  • Oats
  • Almond Milk
  • Frozen Banana
  • White Chocolate Peanut Butter (yumm)

Before we went to the gym tonight I did about 10 minutes of abs and did tricep kickbacks with my 8 weights.  At the gym I did:

  • 10 min. Eliptical w/Resisitance
  • 20 min Treadmill Incline 7 (ouch)
  • 3×10 Bicep Curls 10 LBS
  • 3×10 Triceps 10 LBS
  • 3×10 Deadlifts w/10 LB Bicep Curl

I’ve never done an incline of 7 on the treadmill before–it was kinda fun being up that high, but I could definitely feel the difference and I worked up a good sweat!

When I got home I was feeling a little creative and happened to have a Red Bell Pepper that I didn’t want to go to waste so I created a little snack

I don’t quite know what to call it yet so it is what it is…Spinach, Red Bell Pepper & hummus! It was delicious AND nutrtious as the peppers are another veggie full of disease fighting anti-oxidants and a bunch of vitamins and minerals! Plus I thought it looked pretty! 🙂

After my little snack I had a great cookie for dessert from Country Choice Organic. They’re made from pure organic ingredients! Ugh, it was so soft and melted in my mouth–I’m not a fan of had cookies, this was perfect!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Monday! 🙂

I had a serious case of the munchies today! I’m SO not allowed to keep almonds in my desk drawer at work anymore–I can go days and days without eating them, but it only takes 1 look sometimes and I could devour the whole can. I didn’t…but I definitely could have! I think I’ll start taking them in little individual servings from now on.

This weekend I got an AWESOME package from Cherrybrook Kitchen

“The sweet solution for food allergies.” All of their products are Peanut Free-Dairy Free-Egg Free-Nut Free.

I decided last night I’d try the Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix–I can never get enough cookies and they were calling my name! I didn’t want to make the whole box because I was pretty sure a lot of them would end up going to waste so I ended up just using half of the box and adjusting the ingredients which wasn’t hard, all I had to add was

  • Organic Smart Balance
  • Water

See…not hard at all which is just the way I like it!

I set the oven at 375 and plopped some dough on the pan to bake for 8-10 minutes

I said it was simple BUT for some reason they came out a BIT wattery–I still had hope they’d turn out great!

Ok, so they didn’t come out looking thick and fluffy–they looked more like chocolate chip pancakes really. But they DID turn out to be delicious…and very light! lol

I can’t wait to try the other mixes!

Today was a quick trip to the gym because we had to get to the grocery store as well so I did:

  • 15 min Eliptical on resistence 8
  • 5 min run on Treadmill
  • 10 min Stair Master

It was quick but sweaty so I was happy!

This was Green Smoothie today. As you can see it was not so green–I ran out of bananas and used some mixed frozen berries.

  • Almond Milk
  • Berries
  • Oats
  • Spinach

Sounds like it’d be good, right? Well it tasted kind of how it looked, if you know what I mean,  so I got through half and dumped it. Luckily we made the trip to the store so I’ll have yummy banana tomorrow!

Sole Food

Hope everyone has had an amazing week–I’m so happy tomorrow is Friday! 🙂

This morning when I got out of bed and was SO sore that I could barely move, is when I realized I need to switch up my workout routines more often. I used to do those OnDemand workouts ALL the time before I joined the gym, but last night was the first time I’d done one in a while…and I did 2! So my goal is to try and switch things up a bit, whether it be at the gym or not, I need to get every muscle moving so this doesn’t happen again!

Since I wasn’t feeling too good I of course needed some comfort food for breakfast to make me feel better! 🙂

I got through my amazing bowl of oats and decided I should probably start getting ready for work since I’d be moving at a VERY slow pace!

I made it through the day and actually started to feel a lot better once I was stretched out!

My Green Smoothie was delicious as usual, especially since I added some Amazing Grass SuperFood in it and put it in my nifty little Amazing Grass cup. LOVE that thing! 🙂

Dinner tonight was SO good!

Those are slivered Almonds that went on TOP of a piece of Sole and on the side of my USUAL veggies of course!

The Boo gave me the bag with the leftover Almond slivers which is like the equivalent of licking the bowl for me so I was a happy girl!

Their kettle-cooked potato chips are all natural, gluten free, kosher certified, and contain NO trans fat. I can’t wait to try them, THANKS Deep River Snacks!

Tonight’s workout was FUN–I did a cardio video OnDemand with Kendel (love him) and then I did some abs and leg excercises while watching an episode of Regis & Kelly that I DVRed. Yep that’s right…I DVR Regis & Kelly!

I <3 My Body Bugg!

This thing is AAAAmazing!

I wore it to work again today which pretty much = NO calorie burning since I sit at a desk all day. I want it to be completely accurate though so I’m wearing it everywhere…..for now! I really don’t even notice I’m wearing it till I get the occasional strange look or a coworker questioning why I have it on. I feel like I should make up some really cool story about why it is that I’m wearing this strange contraption around my arm–they’d probably find it way more interesting than the truth! 🙂

Look at this beauty! Twas a very delicious Green Smoothie that I made today!

  • Almond Milk
  • Water
  • Oats
  • TONS of Spinach
  • Frozen Banana
  • Flaxseed

I was worried that the water might water it down too much but it didn’t at all and came out really good–I was excited that it actually filled up the whole cup!

Today’s workout was a TOTAL success! Wearing the Body Bugg is making me so much more aware of I’m doing and eating–it pretty much pumped me up for my trip to the gym! There I did:

  • 15 min. on a Crazy Incline
  • 6-7 min. running
  • 10 min. Eliptical on Full Resistance

On the Cable Machine (I think that’s what it’s called) I did:

  • 3×10 Bicep Curls
  • 3×10 Triceps
  • 3×10 Shoulders

Free Weights with 8 LBS I did:

  • 15 Deadlifts w/ Hammer Curl
  • 15 Tricep Kickbacks
  • 20 Lunges w/ Bicep Curl (each side)

I was on a MISSION–to see how this thing really worked! However, when I got home I plugged the Bugg in and still had more calories to burn, so I decided to do some of my favorite excercises OnDemand in my living room of course!

  • 10 min. Bootylicious Buns HAHA
  • 14 min. Abs

It kind of sounds like a lot but the scary part is (if it’s completely accurate) that I still had some calories to burn and some more calories to eat! I mean I do sit for 9 hours out of the day at work, so during that time I’m getting no physical activity and it’s tough at times to fit everything in. That’s why I think this will help me for sure!

It’ll also show me how to properly fuel by body for the amount of exercise I do end up getting throughout the day. I’m SOOO glad I have the appointment w/my Coach next week. I’ll update more when she tells me what I’m doing wrong! LOL

Happy Tuesday! 🙂

I’m so glad everyone liked the Zucchini Wraps–those of you who try them have to let me know how it turns out for sure!

Ugh it was so hard to get up this morning after 4 days of sleeping in, and by sleeping in I mean till 7ish. My body is just programmed to get up early now, it’s terrible! 🙂 But it was a bit difficult to get back into the 4:30 wake-up routine, however, I managed and made myself some yummy eggs and turkey sausage!

I always like to cook my eggs a little longer so that they’re not SUPER runny. Yum! I haven’t had egg yolks in a while and they were just as delicious as I remembered.

I brought some turkey and hummus for lunch today with some of the juicy cantaloupe that I cut up yesterday.

I’m really excited about the Body Bugg that the Boo bought me for my birthday

bodybugg_image_largeI wore it all day today, at work and all! I ran into a trainer at the gym and she told me that it’s definitely going to make me aware of what’s going one, how much I need to eat in comparison to how many calories I’m burning. I have a really hard time knowing just how much I should be eating and where my nutrients should be coming from. As you can see I AM trying and this will definitely be a big help. Next week a Body Bugg coach is actually going to CALL me for a 1 hour session to explain how it works and what I should be looking for! So cool!!!

On the way home from work I snacked on half a Flying Vegan bar, they’re so delicious!



I made myself such a great smoothie today filled the usual–I hadn’t made one for a few days and was definitely craving a huge glass of green yummyness!

At the gym I did:

  • 10 min. Walking on Incline
  • 10 min. Eliptical on full Resistance
  • 6 min. Runnin on Treadmill (I’m slowly improving, yay)

We headed down to the weight room today with all the macho muscle men and I felt pretttttty cool lifting my 8s! 🙂 It was fun!

So a great friend of mine who has been a Vegetarian her whole life just became Vegan a few months ago and is sharing an awesome VEGAN POTATO SALAD recipe:

  • Unpeeled medium chopped potatoes – boil until fork tender with a pinch of kosher salt
  • Diced red onion
  • Diced celery
  • Diced red,green and/or orange pepper
  • Diced dill pickles
  • Vegenaise Dressing (available at Henry’s)
  • French’s Yellow Mustard
  • Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper
  • After boiling, rinse potatoes and refrigerate until cold and firm.  Mix all ingredients to taste.


How delicious does that look?? She said that she was a bit skeptical because she’s not a huge fan of mayonnaise (just like me) but that it turned out to be really yummy! Big thanks to my friend for sharing this delicious recipe–I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more Vegan recipe posts! 🙂

This is going to be SUPER fast tonight–just going to post some quick snacks I had today!

I’m determined to get some sleep tonight and I’m already running behind schedule and I want to make sure I rest up because tomorrow is technically my FRIDAY! 🙂 OH yaaaaaaa! I’m taking a 4 day weekend

#1 Because Suday is my birthday and I thought it’d be fun

#2 Because I freaking deserve it! I get up @ 4:30 every morning and have been working overtime in the office this week…So I’m taking a mini VACA!

I have to do a little bragging–The Boo officially named today’s Green Smoothie my best! He does a little taste testing on most of them and for the most part enjoys them all, yet he still refuses to make any of his with veggies!

I don’t know what was so different about it–I used my go to mix today…

  • Almond Milk
  • Spinach
  • Oats
  • Frozen Banana
  • Flax
  • Ice

But there WAS something about it that made it more enjoyable! I think it was thicker than usual which I LOVE–not a big fan of when it’s juice-like.

Anyway I had some more of my yummy Mini Quiche today

Gym tonight was super successful, much better than yesterday! I did some running and walking on the treadmill and lifted some weights–I felt good and was ready to treat myself to an awesome dessert tonight!

A DELICIOUS vitamuffin from Vitalicious! They are Muffic Tops–how clever is THAT? They’re also ONLY 100 calories! I’m so glad that I found these and got to try them because I’ve always been a Muffin Top eater (lol that sounds funny), I’d always buy a muffin but just eat the top. Now it works out perfectly!

OK I’m pooped and I need to get some beauty sleep for my long weekend! 🙂 Hope you all had a WONDERFUL day!
